Football Recap: Nixa Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Win

Nixa strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They claimed a resounding 55-14 win over the Waynesville Tigers. Considering the Eagles have won four contests by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

It was another big night for Jayden McCaster, who rushed for 108 yards and three scores on only seven carries. McCaster is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 108 every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam McKnight, who threw for 131 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Nixa was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 391 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Nixa didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Wyatt Mabe led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself.

Nixa's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Waynesville, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nixa will square off against Ozark at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 40 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Waynesville, they will take on Kickapoo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Chiefs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 42.71 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
