Alameda extended their winning streak to seven on Wednesday, bumping them up to 19-3. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Castro Valley Trojans. That's two games straight that the Hornets have won by exactly three runs.

Julia Lambert spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alissa Smitheram was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Maddy Yoon, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Alameda hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive matchups.

As for Castro Valley, their loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-5. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Castro Valley's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alanys Robertson, who went 1-for-3 with one run. Chloe Spade also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Alameda has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Encinal on the 8th. As for Castro Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 6-1 victory against Bishop O'Dowd on the 8th.
