Baseball Game Preview: Northview Knights vs. Terre Haute South Vigo Braves

Northview is 2-8 against Terre Haute South Vigo since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Knights will square off against the Braves at 5:00 p.m. Northview has given up an average of 9.3 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Northview came up short against Cascade on Wednesday, falling 12-2. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Northview saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Easton Thomas, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Terre Haute South Vigo didn't have quite enough to beat Westville on Wednesday and fell 5-4.

Terre Haute South Vigo also got a good showing from Gavin Freeman, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Freeman has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Cam Hoke and Tyler Leek did some serious damage despite the final result: Hoke went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Leek scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Northview's record now sits at 2-4. As for Terre Haute South Vigo, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.
