Baseball Recap: Holly Grove Christian Wins Going Away Against Sts. Peter & Paul

Holly Grove Christian was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Sts. Peter & Paul on Thursday. The Eagles blew past the Sabres 13-6. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 9-8 loss the last time these two teams met.

Alex Forbush made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Holly Grove Christian is 2-1 when Forbush allows two or fewer hits, but 4-6 otherwise. Forbush was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Holly Grove Christian let Lucas Creighton and Nathan Hamilton run wild. Creighton got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base, while Hamilton went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Hamilton is becoming a predictor of Holly Grove Christian's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 3-7 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Zink, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one run.

Holly Grove Christian's record is now 6-7. As for Sts. Peter & Paul, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-16.

As of now, neither Holly Grove Christian nor the Sabres have any future games scheduled.
