Baseball Recap: Providence Hall Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Providence Hall and Morgan, and Providence Hall kept the tradition alive. The Patriots came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 13-10 on Friday. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 6-4 win the Trojans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Andrew Taylor made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Tatem Bowen was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. McCade Edwards was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Providence Hall kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive games.

Providence Hall has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Morgan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-8.

Looking ahead, Providence Hall will host Richfield at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Morgan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
