Football Recap: Laney Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Laney couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They had to suffer through a 48-18 loss at the hands of the Rockmart Yellowjackets. The Wildcats were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Leading Rockmart to victory were Nate Davis and Tucker Parson. Davis rushed for 192 yards while picking up 9.6 yards per carry, while Parson threw for 188 yards and four TDs while completing 87.5% of his passes. Those 192 rushing yards gave Davis a new career-high. 118 of Parson's passing yards were hauled in by Gavin Green.

Laney's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Rockmart, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-1.

Laney does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rockmart, they will face off against Burke County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets will need to watch out since the Bears have now posted at least 31 points in their last five contests.
