Volleyball Recap: Barron Collier Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Barron Collier can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Estero Wildcats on Thursday. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-13, 25-19.

Ellie Babinski paced Barron Collier's offense, picking up five kills. Babinski were helped by Alyssa Falcone and Sofia Soto, who contributed eight assists each. Soto was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Barron Collier's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-16. As for Estero, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 21-7.

Barron Collier does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Estero, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against St. Brendan on the 22nd.
