Baseball Recap: Pajaro Valley Grizzlies vs. Marina Mariners
Pajaro Valley blew Marina out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Marina got their revenge. The Grizzlies fell just short of the Mariners by a score of 5-3. Surprisingly, this marked the Grizzlies' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Steve Martinez put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That one hit allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also big at the plate, earning two runs and one stolen base.
Martinez wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Roy Sanchez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Pajaro Valley dropped their record down to 1-12 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Marina, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-13.
