Soccer Recap: Greenbrier Comes Up Short

Greenbrier managed to keep up with Merrol Hyde Magnet until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Bobcats came up short against the Hawks, falling 6-2. If Greenbrier were looking for revenge after losing 5-1 to Merrol Hyde Magnet when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Arjenn Cortez and Krystian Lopez-Miguel scored both of Greenbrier's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

This is the second loss in a row for Greenbrier and nudges their season record down to 2-6. As for Merrol Hyde Magnet, they now have a winning record of 4-3-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greenbrier will face off against Portland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The game will give Greenbrier their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Merrol Hyde Magnet, they will square off against RePublic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
