Soccer Game Preview: Gilford vs. Bishop Brady

The Gilford Golden Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Bishop Brady Giants at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gilford's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Gilford fell victim to Kearsarge and their airtight defense on Saturday. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, Bishop Brady had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Hillcats. The game was the first time Bishop Brady have beaten Hillsboro-Deering on their pitch since September 18, 2020.

Gilford's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5-2. As for Bishop Brady, the victory got them back to even at 3-3-2.

Gilford came out on top in a nail-biter against Bishop Brady when the teams last played back in October of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Eagles since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
