Baseball Recap: Saks Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ragland, Saks was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Talladega Tigers 27-6. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Wildcats' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

The team relied heavily on LaJuan Curry, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tyler Rucker, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with five RBI, two runs, and one double.

Saks' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Talladega, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Saks will challenge Ider at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Talladega, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers take on the Cougars at 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
