Softball Recap: Culver Academies Eagles vs. Maconaquah Braves

Culver Academies couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 15-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Maconaquah Braves on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Culver Academies of the 6-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2021.

For Maconaquah's part, Blayklee Buman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and nine unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk). Buman was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with a stolen base, two RBI, and a double.

In other batting news, Maconaquah let Amaya Rader and Shaela Brazzel loose on the outfield.
