Baseball Recap: Whiting Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Whiting's offense. They came up short against the Illiana Christian Vikings on Tuesday, falling 11-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-0 on Monday.

Whiting has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Illiana Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Whiting will face off against Hammond Morton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Oilers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Governors have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season. As for Illiana Christian, they will take on Andrew at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
