Tri-County had won three straight at home, but on Thursday they bumped their record up to 5-1 to make it four. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the West Central Trojans, sneaking past 6-5. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-1 on Tuesday.

The team relied heavily on Grayson Schneider, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Drew Foster, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Tri-County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

As for West Central, they now have a losing record of 4-5. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

On West Central's side, Tate Leman was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. Leman also tossed no walks, which is notable because West Central is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-4 otherwise. Leman was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Leman wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Connor Huber, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that Huber has hit this season. Teagan Holle was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tri-County will head out to take on Benton Central at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for West Central, they will venture away from home to face off against Knox at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
