Football Recap: Cesar E. Chavez Takes a Loss

Cesar E. Chavez played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 36-12 to the Sterling Rangers. The Lobos were down 23-0 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the loss, Cesar E. Chavez still got an impressive performance from Johntta Thomas, who picked up 91 receiving yards and one touchdown. Thomas got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 55 yards.

Cesar E. Chavez is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3. As for Sterling, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-1.

Cesar E. Chavez and Sterling will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Lobos will face off against rival Heights at 7:00 p.m. on October 2. Meanwhile, Sterling is set to challenge their familiar foe Ball at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
