Preview: Mountain View vs. Prairie
If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Mountain View. On Friday they take on Prairie at McKenzie Stadium at 4:30 PM. Mountain View are cruising in on a four-game winning streak while Prairie are stumbling in off of three consecutive losses.
Mountain View put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season last Friday. They steamrollered Hudson's Bay 62-3. Senior Jack Mertens was the offensive standout of the match for Mountain View, as he rushed for 232 yards and 4 touchdowns. Mertens has been a consistent playmaker for Mountain View as this was the 3rd good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, Prairie lost to Kelso by a decisive 18-34 margin. Prairie were down by 10-34 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Everything came up roses for Mountain View against Prairie the last time the two teams met as the squad secured a 49-10 victory. Will Mountain View repeat their success, or does Prairie have a better game plan this time around ? We'll find out soon enough.
