Softball Recap: Riverview Sarasota Starts Season with Win Against Braden River

Riverview Sarasota had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They never let the Braden River Pirates get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Not much got past Allison Cole, who gave up just five hits and racked up 17 Ks to keep Braden River off the board. That's the most strikeouts Cole has posted since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Riverview Sarasota's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sierra Lipton, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Braden River's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Riverview Sarasota will take on Venice at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Braden River, they will challenge Manatee at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
