Basketball Recap: Aftin Griffin Key Part of a Team Effort in Kings Win

Lewis Cass hadn't done well against Twin Lakes recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Lewis Cass Kings managed a 42-38 win over the Twin Lakes Indians. For the Kings, this counts as revenge for the 66-36 victory the Indians walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2021.

Lewis Cass' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aftin Griffin, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine steals. Those nine steals gave Griffin a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Hedrick, who went 5 of 8 en route to 13 points.

When it comes to explaining why Twin Lakes lost, don't look at Taylor Oliver. Despite the final result, she posted 20 points and four steals. With that strong performance, Oliver is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Addyson Hines was another key player, putting up six points and seven rebounds.

Lewis Cass' record now sits at 13-4. As for Twin Lakes, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-14.
