Basketball Game Preview: East Canton Hornets vs. Malvern Hornets

The East Canton Hornets will square off against the Malvern Hornets at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. East Canton has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 18.

Last Monday, East Canton lost to Fairless on the road by a 47-33 margin.

Meanwhile, Malvern unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They lost 77-52 to Strasburg-Franklin. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 484th, while the Tigers are ranked 100th).

East Canton's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Malvern, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

East Canton won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, slipping by Malvern 46-45. Will East Canton repeat their success, or does Malvern have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
