Volleyball Recap: St. Joseph-Ogden Comes Up Short + How To Watch

St. Joseph-Ogden lost against Monticello back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Spartans fell just short of the Sages by a score of 2-1. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, St. Joseph-Ogden sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-20, 23-25, 25-15.

Monticello's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mady Melton, who had 12 digs and four assists. Melton has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadie Walsh, who had seven digs and two aces.

St. Joseph-Ogden's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Monticello, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

St. Joseph-Ogden wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Cissna Park on the 1st. As for Monticello, they have also already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Illinois Valley Central on the 2nd.
