Softball Recap: Lutheran Crusaders vs. Winnebago Indians

Lutheran had lost 21 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 0-15 to make it 22. They came up short against the Winnebago Indians, falling 14-1. If the Crusaders were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Indians when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Winnebago, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-11. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

For Winnebago's part, Sammi Falnes was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most runs Falnes has posted since back in April of 2024. Vanessa Warkentien was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
