Aurora came tearing into Monday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Mt. Vernon Mountaineers 56-26. The Houn Dawgs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season.

Aurora's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Mt. Vernon, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Aurora and Mt. Vernon will both be playing McDonald County the next time they take the court. Aurora will host McDonald County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Mt. Vernon will host them at 6:00 p.m. on February 3rd.
