Softball Recap: Plainfield South Cougars vs. Plainfield East Bengals

Plainfield South extended their losing streak to six on Tuesday, dropping them down to 5-19. They came up short against the Plainfield East Bengals, falling 11-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bengals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 back in April.

Plainfield South saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brielle Florimon, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases.

As for Plainfield East, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games.

On Plainfield East's side, not much got past Jocelyn Cushard, who gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks to keep Plainfield South off the board. Cushard has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances.
