Basketball Recap: Avalon Comes Up Short

Avalon's tournament run continued when they took on Potomac on Saturday. The Black Knights received a blow as they fell 71-54 to the Wolverines. The Black Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Avalon's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Potomac, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Avalon will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sandy Spring Friends at 12:00 p.m. on January 3, 2026. The Black Knights will be up against the Wildebeests' rather soft defense (which has allowed 61.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Potomac and Westlake will round out the year against one another at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Potomac's defense better be ready for this one: Westlake has averaged an impressive 54.8 points per game this season.
