Volleyball Recap: Lakewood Takes a Loss

Lakewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Keyport Raiders. The Piners were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Raiders earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Lakewood's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Keyport, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-10.

Looking ahead, Lakewood will venture away from home to square off against Long Branch at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Keyport, they will take on Donovan Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders are facing the Griffins at the right time seeing as the Griffins are stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
