Basketball Recap: Nandua Warriors vs. Northampton Yellowjackets

It was a good run, but the Nandua Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 74-61 to Northampton. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (59), Nandua still had to take the loss.

Nandua's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makai Dorn, who scored nine points.

Northampton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaylen Anderson led the charge by scoring 21 points along with six assists and two steals. Ronyell Coston was another key contributor, scoring 23 points along with four steals.

Nandua dropped their record down to 6-6 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Northampton, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Nandua won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on January 24th. One thing working in Pocomoke's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games. As for Northampton, they will head out on the road to face off against the Firebirds at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Arcadia is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 68.9 points per game this season.
