Football Recap: Hoover Falls to IMG Academy in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Hoover unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 34-13 to the IMG Academy Ascenders on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Buccaneers in their meetings with the Ascenders: they've now lost four in a row.

Hoover lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jonah Winston, who picked up 79 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Le'Khy Thompkins was nothing short of spectacular for IMG Academy: he rushed for 164 yards and three TDs while picking up 9.6 yards per carry.

Looking ahead, Hoover will venture away from home to challenge Spain Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for IMG Academy, they have already played their next matchup, a 35-14 victory against Winslow Township on the 28th.
