Baseball Game Preview: Horizon Hawks vs. Westminster Wolves

The Horizon Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Westminster Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Horizon took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They skirted past Monarch 3-2. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Hawks as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Gavin Thurston looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He is becoming a predictor of Horizon's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 5-10 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Parker Aaron was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

Meanwhile, Westminster hadn't done well against Skyview recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Wolves came out on top against the Wolverines by a score of 9-4.

Horizon's record is now 7-11. As for Westminster, their record now sits at 11-8.
