Softball Recap: Algonac Find Success

Algonac won the last time they faced Yale and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Muskrats came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 5-2. That's two games straight that the Muskrats have won by exactly three runs.

Morgan Reams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Jaycee Reams was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Layna Kunnath, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

The win got Algonac back to even at 11-11-1. As for Yale, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Algonac will challenge Almont at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Yale, they will take on Lutheran North at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
