Basketball Game Preview: Coronado Cougars vs. Clark Chargers

Having just played yesterday, the Coronado Cougars will get right back to it and host the Clark Chargers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Coronado is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Bishop Gorman, who was ranked second at the time (Coronado was ranked 13th). Coronado had to suffer through a 67-27 loss at the hands of Bishop Gorman. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cougars have suffered since December 18, 2024.

Meanwhile, Clark was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 31st straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by Desert Pines and fell 71-17. The Chargers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-9.

Clark's defeat dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Coronado, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Everything came up roses for Coronado against Clark in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 64-21 victory. Does Coronado have another victory up their sleeve, or will Clark turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
