Baseball Game Preview: Lincoln Railsplitters vs. Southeast Polk Rams

Lincoln hasn't had much luck against Southeast Polk recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Railsplitters will square off against the Rams. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lincoln hadn't beaten Ames on the road since June 22, 2020 but that history sure didn't bother them on Saturday. The Railsplitters walked away with an 8-3 win over the Little Cyclones. The match marked the Railsplitters' most dominant victory of the season.

Meanwhile, Southeast Polk entered their tilt with Norwalk on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Warriors 10-0.

Southeast Polk's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-18. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Lincoln, their win bumped their record up to 3-15.

Lincoln came up short against Southeast Polk when the teams last played back in June of 2022, falling 17-13. Can the Railsplitters avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
