Basketball Recap: Agoura Piles Up the Points Against Burroughs

Agoura won the last time they faced Burroughs and things went their way on Thursday too. The Agoura Chargers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Burroughs Bears 71-42. With the Chargers ahead 38-17 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

When it comes to explaining why Burroughs lost, don't look at Ethan Cooper. Despite the final result, he posted eight points and ten rebounds. Cooper continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Nathan Rodriguez was another key player, putting up ten points.

Agoura is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Burroughs, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Agoura will take on King's Academy in a tournament on Thursday. One thing working in Agoura's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests. After both having extra time off, Burroughs and Castaic will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 3:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
