Softball Recap: St. Johns Snaps 12-Game Streak of Wins at Home

St. Johns's last matchup with Show Low could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Thursday. St. Johns lost 9-3 to Show Low. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Redskins of the 4-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Bellamia Nelson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

St. Johns' loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-3. As for Show Low, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Johns will take on Hopi at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Show Low, they will square off against Snowflake at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Snowflake's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Show Low's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
