Recap: High Point Baptist Academy Eagles vs. Conestoga Christian Cougars
After a string of six wins, the High Point Baptist Academy Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. The match between High Point Baptist Academy and Conestoga Christian wasn't particularly close, with High Point Baptist Academy falling 71-52. High Point Baptist Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Conestoga Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Despite the loss, High Point Baptist Academy still got an impressive performance from Nick Harris, who scored 18 points. That's the first time this season that Harris scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Rogers, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Conestoga Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Paul Hurst led the charge by scoring 20 points along with nine rebounds. Hurst is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Josh Boutaugh, who scored 23 points along with six assists and three steals.
High Point Baptist Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Conestoga Christian, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
High Point Baptist Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Lehigh Valley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Conestoga Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Christian School of York at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
