AAAA Region 6 Top Player Performances of the Week

Aedan Mccarthy Goes Supernova in Bluffton Win

Starting off the list is Bluffton's Aedan Mccarthy, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Mccarthy threw for 276 yards and three touchdowns on only 19 passes, and also rushed for 56 yards.

The victory (which was Bluffton's third in a row) raised their record to 5-2. Mccarthy will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant effort when he faces off against Bishop England on Friday.

Mahoney Came Up Big in Bishop England's 31-14 Win

Bishop England found a leader in Quinn Mahoney as the team took down Beaufort on Friday. Beaufort had no answer to Mahoney as he threw for 192 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 45 yards.

Bishop England's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Mahoney and Bishop England will welcome Bluffton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Carnell Warren Makes It Two for Bluffton

Another Bluffton player making an appearance on this list is Carnell Warren. He picked up 122 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 68 yards.

Colleton County's probably not too fond of Warren given he always seems to get the better of them. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Warren saw the Cougars), he picked up 131 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Jacobi Saunders Turns in Season-Best Performance

Bluffton was led to victory by Jacobi Saunders, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Saunders forced two fumbles and made 11 total tackles (1.0 for loss). The effort also marked the most rushing yards (three) he has had since back in November of 2023. Saunders is crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season.

For the season, Saunders has averaged 7.7 total tackles per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 1.29 total tackles per game.
