Basketball Game Preview: Newmarket Mules vs. Pittsfield Panthers

Newmarket is 10-0 against Pittsfield since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Newmarket Mules will be playing at home against the Pittsfield Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Newmarket has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Newmarket will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Portsmouth Christian Academy, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Newmarket snuck past Portsmouth Christian Academy with a 59-55 victory on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Pittsfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost to Franklin on the road by a 60-46 margin.

Newmarket pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.2 points per game. As for Pittsfield, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Newmarket strolled past Pittsfield when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a score of 60-41. Will Newmarket repeat their success, or does Pittsfield have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
