Baseball Recap: Manchester Takes a Loss

Manchester and Eastern squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Manchester had to settle for second. They lost 20-6 to the Comets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Comets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-13 on May 1st.

Manchester saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Harper Sturtsman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Aiden Bahney also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Manchester moved to 13-13 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Eastern, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record this season.

Manchester does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Eastern, they will take on Oak Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Comets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
