Softball Recap: North Pontotoc Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact North Pontotoc can now relate to. They fell 6-3 to the Amory Panthers on Monday. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 8-7.

North Pontotoc saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maggie McClain, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

North Pontotoc has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-9 record this season. As for Amory, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-12.

As of now, neither North Pontotoc nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
