While losing is never fun, Colorado Springs School can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 234th, while James Irwin is ranked 66th).
James Irwin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Roman Burnside led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Burnside has scored all season. Malik Willis was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with ten rebounds and seven assists.
Colorado Springs School has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for James Irwin, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Colorado Springs School will be playing at home against Kiowa at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for James Irwin, they will head out on the road to square off against St. Mary's at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Mary's is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
