If the Colorado Springs School Kodiaks were riding high off their 61-35 takedown of the South Park Burros last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Colorado Springs School took a 60-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of James Irwin on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Colorado Springs School can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 234th, while James Irwin is ranked 66th).

James Irwin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Roman Burnside led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Burnside has scored all season. Malik Willis was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with ten rebounds and seven assists.

Colorado Springs School has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for James Irwin, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
