Orland (Calif.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 24-6 win over
Willows (Calif.).
The Trojans scored seven points in the first quarter. Orland scored on a passing touchdown and a touchdown.
After taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the first quarter, OHS led 14-0 at the half.
The Trojans expanded their lead to 18 points entering the fourth quarter. Orland scored two times in the third, including once on a field goal.
The Honkers'
Ulises Esparza was the standout player for his team. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown.
Willows' lone touchdown came on a 12-yard pass from Esparza to
Chris Walter in the third quarter.
A 52-0 Orland victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The win was a nice bounce back for the Trojans, which lost to Central Valley last week, 19-7.
In a non-conference game next week Willows (1-2) takes on Corning, and Orland (2-1) will go up against Gridley in a Butte View game.
