Tiftarea Academy can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Thursday. They blew past the Valdosta Wildcats 14-2. The high-scoring effort was just what the Panthers needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.
Olivia Monfort was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). Monfort was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Raelyn Owens was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, a triple, and two RBI. Katelyn Brown was another key contributor, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
