Preview: Whitehouse Wildcats vs. Mt. Pleasant Tigers
Whitehouse is 0-3 against Mt. Pleasant since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Whitehouse Wildcats will be home for the holidays to greet the Mt. Pleasant Tigers at 7:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Whitehouse's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Mt. Pleasant has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
Whitehouse scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They put the hurt on Marshall with a sharp 70-49 victory. Given Whitehouse's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while Marshall is ranked 836th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 73-36, which was the final score in Mt. Pleasant's tilt against Tyler on Friday.
Whitehouse's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Mt. Pleasant, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.
Whitehouse came up short against Mt. Pleasant when the teams last played back in January, falling 39-26. Can Whitehouse avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
