Baseball Game Preview: Granite City Warriors vs. Civic Memorial Eagles

The Granite City Warriors will take on the Civic Memorial Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Granite City and three for Civic Memorial.

Friday just wasn't the day for Granite City's offense. They came up short against Glenwood on Friday, falling 6-0.

Granite City got a good showing from Micheal Terry, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Terry has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Civic Memorial also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 10-0 to Mascoutah on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly ten runs.

Civic Memorial also got a good showing from Brock Rust, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Civic Memorial saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Butler, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Civic Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Granite City, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.
