Basketball Recap: Point Pleasant Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Poca

Point Pleasant's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They took down the Poca The Dots 53-34. The win was all the more spectacular given the Big Blacks' disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 500th, while the The Dots are ranked 99th).

Point Pleasant's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Poca, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-10.

Point Pleasant will be playing in front of their home fans against Sissonville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sissonville has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 205 points over their last three matchups. Poca has already played their next game (against Scott), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
