Softball Recap: Canton Comes Up Short

Canton was the 7-4 winner over Hartland when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cobras fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 4-3 on Wednesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last seven times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Mia Thurman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Sydney Felkins also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Canton's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Hartland, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Canton will face off against Novi at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cobras are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Hartland, they will take on South Lyon at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
