Baseball Game Preview: Bluefield Beavers vs. James Monroe Mavericks

The Bluefield Beavers will venture away from home to take on the James Monroe Mavericks at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bluefield comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Bluefield lost 15-1 to WestSide on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, James Monroe fell victim to Wyoming East and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Mavericks were not able to get on the board.

James Monroe saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Gardinier, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Bluefield's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for James Monroe, they moved to 4-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Bluefield might still be hurting after the 15-2 defeat they got from James Monroe in their previous meeting on Wednesday. Can the Beavers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
