Basketball Recap: Athens Takes a Loss

Athens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Brownsboro Bears, falling 42-19. The matchup marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Athens' loss dropped their record down to 9-21. As for Brownsboro, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-8 record this season.

Athens will head out on the road to square off against Canton at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brownsboro, they will face off against Brookeland at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
