Basketball Game Preview: Clay Eagles vs. Springfield Blue Devils

The Clay Eagles and the Springfield Blue Devils will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Clay is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were the clear victor by an 84-63 margin over Evergreen on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Eagles have posted since February 6th.

Meanwhile, Springfield didn't have too much trouble with Scott on Saturday as they won 50-36. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 226th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Springfield now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Clay, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Clay strolled past Springfield in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 57-42. Does Clay have another victory up their sleeve, or will Springfield turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
