Basketball Recap: Hilldale Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Hilldale and Glenpool squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Hilldale had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Glenpool Warriors 89-26. The Hornets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 62-10.

Aaliyah Shawnee continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Glenpool, almost dropping a double-double with 34 points and nine steals. Shawnee is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Tyra Mckinnie, who dropped a triple-double with 12 points, 13 rebounds, and ten assists.

Hilldale has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. The victory made it two in a row for Glenpool and bumps their season record up to 18-9.

Coming up, Hilldale will take on Checotah at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hilldale has given up an average of 49.8 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. As for Glenpool, they will challenge Bethany at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
