Football Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Cushing's Winning Streak + How To Watch

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Cushing couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They were dealt a 52-6 defeat at the hands of the Elgin Owls on Friday. The Tigers were red-hot offensively heading into the matchup (they scored no less than 31 points in the 11 games prior), but the Owls' defense proved too tough.

Ritson Meyer was nothing short of spectacular for Elgin: he rushed for 97 yards and four scores. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Elam, who rushed for 142 yards on only 14 carries.

Cushing moved to 11-2 with that loss, which also ended their ten-game winning streak. As for Elgin, their win bumped their record up to 13-0.

Cushing does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Elgin, they will challenge Tuttle at 7:00 p.m. on the 13th. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Owls 7.3, the Tigers 5.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
